Single row angular contact ball bearings :
Single row angular contact ball bearings can carry thrust load in one direction only, and should always be adjusted against another bearing which accommodates the opposed thrust load. Single row angular contact ball bearings are nonseparable.

Spindle bearings are a special design of the single row angular contact ball bearings; they were developed primarily for high-speed work spindles of machine tools. The spindle bearings differ from the angular contact ball bearings by the contact angle, the degree of accuracy, and the type of cage. Spindle bearings are manufactured in series 70 and 72. They are identified by a bearing number commencing with a B.

Double row angular contact ball bearings :
The design of the double row angular contact ball bearings corresponds to two single row angular contact ball bearings arranged back to back. The bearing is capable of carrying high radial loads and thrust loads in both direction. It is particularly suitable for applications calling for high axial rigidity.

Double row angular contact ball bearings with unsplit rings are provided with filling slots on one side. The bearings should be mounted in such a way that the main loads are carried by the raceways without filling slot.

Thrust ball bearings are available in both the single and the double acting designs. Either one can take high thrust but no radial load. Besides the conventional design with flat supporting surfaces, the Bajaj standard programme includes thrust ball bearings made with spherical housing washers and seating rings.

The small series are fitted with press steel cages. Bearings with machined window type cages are suffixed MP (brass) or FP (steel) suffixes M and F identify riveted brass and steel cages.

Bajaj bearings units are intended mostly for applications calling for simplicity of design and assembly. They are used, for instance, in agricultural machinery, conveying equipment, and construction machinery. A Pillow bearing unit consists of a deep groove ball bearing sealed on both sides and a spherical outside diameter together with a housing, which is either a casting or a sheet metal stamping. This units are supplied as plummer block or flanged housing mountings.

The Bajaj Bearings covers the current units for matric and inch size shaft. Apart from very rare exceptions these bearing units are used as locating bearings. They are particularly suited for short shaft and for applications where only minor thermal expansions occur. Small shaft expansions are absorbed by the axial clearance in the bearings. Self � aligning ball bearing is of the double type with a spherical raceway in the outer, Self-aligning ball bearings of series 112 and 113 have an extended inner ring. They are located on the shaft by dowel pins engaging in a slot at one side of the inner ring. If a shaft is supported by pairs of self-aligning ball bearings the slot must be in opposition to each other. The bores of series 112 and 113 bearings are made to j7 limits.
